Mental health
Worry after a cancer diagnosis is a normal response. It still deserves attention when it stops sleep, work, or care.
Tell the oncology team if fear, sadness, or anger is persistent. Psycho-oncology, counselling, and sometimes medicine are part of cancer care.
Families and caregivers carry a load too. Asking for help is not a failure of strength.
If you may act on thoughts of suicide, or you are not safe, contact local emergency services now. In India, the government Tele-MANAS mental health helpline is 14416.
UCF’s academy includes psycho-oncology teaching so that clinicians and nurses can recognise distress earlier. This website does not itself provide a crisis clinic.
