About

A foundation for the long work of cancer.

Uttarayan Cancer Foundation was incorporated in Dehradun in 2025. This page says what it is for, who directs it, and how it is governed.

Vision

A region where cancer is found earlier, explained clearly, studied properly, and met with support that reaches families — not only hospital wards.

Mission

UCF brings together professionals, students, communities, and researchers to prevent cancer where prevention works, to teach the people who provide care, to publish trustworthy knowledge, and to collaborate on research that serves patients.

Core aims

  • Reduce delay in recognising warning signs, especially where tobacco, areca nut, and limited screening access drive late diagnosis.
  • Give clinicians, nurses, and students a serious academic home.
  • Publish education that a family can use, and that a clinician has been able to review.
  • Build research and partnerships without pretending a plan is already a result.

Board of directors

The people below are directors on the public company record. Clinical roles are noted only where they are part of that person’s public professional profile. A scientific advisory council will be listed here when appointments are made.

Governance

Uttarayan Cancer Foundation is a not-for-profit company limited by guarantee. It was incorporated on 2 March 2025 and is registered with the Registrar of Companies, Uttarakhand.

  • CIN: U86900UT2025NPL018738
  • Registered office: Avas No. 611, Phase 1, Lane 6, Vivekanand Gram, Jogiwala, Badripur, Dehradun, Uttarakhand 248005
  • Public email: ucfuttarakhand@gmail.com

The company does not have share capital. Day-to-day questions about membership, teaching, research, and volunteering are handled by the desks named on the contact page. Medical pages on this website are general education until a named clinical reviewer signs a version.

Direction

This is the working direction of the foundation’s public programme. It is not a bound strategic-plan document. When the board adopts one, it will replace this section.

  • Reach communities earlier, with screening only where follow-up exists.
  • Teach professionals and students through the academy.
  • Keep a knowledge centre that says what is known and what is not a personal diagnosis.
  • Collaborate on research that a real site can carry, and publish only what has been reviewed.

Annual reports

The first annual report will be posted here after the board adopts it. Until then, programme notes are in the newsroom.
