Frequently asked questions

Short answers to the questions families and clinicians ask first.

What is Uttarayan Cancer Foundation?

UCF is a not-for-profit company in Dehradun. It works on cancer prevention, education, research, and community support. It is not an emergency hospital, and this website cannot book a bed or give a personal diagnosis.

Can I send my reports here for an opinion?

No. A safe opinion needs a clinician who can examine you and see the full record. Use the contact form only for foundation programmes, not for urgent medical advice.

What is the difference between screening and a diagnostic test?

Screening looks for disease in a person who feels well. A diagnostic test investigates a symptom or an abnormal screen. A screening result is not the final word.

Does UCF charge for membership?

Categories exist for students, associates, life members, institutions, international members, and patrons. The membership desk confirms the current fee after an application. This website does not take card payments yet.

Can I volunteer if I am not a doctor?

Yes. Community programmes need people for education, logistics, and local coordination, as well as clinicians. All roles are confirmed by the volunteer desk.

Will my form be public?

No. Enquiry details are stored so the relevant desk can reply. They are not published on the member directory or the newsroom.
